    [1] Ford TSB 05-16-6 states that SAE 10W-30 is acceptable
    to use in operating temperatures from -1 C (31 F) to
    32 C (90 F).SAE 10W-30 is the preferred viscosity if the
    operating varies from -20 C (-4 F) to -1 C (31 F).
    [2] Ford TSB 05-16-6 states that the shown viscosity is
    acceptable to use in the shown temperature range.
    [3] Ford TSB 05-16-6 states that SAE 15W-40 is acceptable
    to use in operating temperatures from -12 C (11 F) to
    -1 C (31 F). SAE 15W-40 is the preferred viscosity if the
    operating is above -1 C (31 F).
    [4] The recommendation has been updated from MSP to MLV per Ford
    Special Service Message 21114 which states the following:
    All 2003-2008 F-Super Duty, 2003-2005 Excursion, 2004-2008
    E-series and 2006-2008 LCF vehicles equipped with a
    torqshift automatic transmission should be serviced with
    Mercon LV automatic transmission fluid in place of Mercon
    SP. This includes top off as well as fluid replacement.
    Mixing Mercon LV and Mercon SP in the torqshift
    automatic transmission is acceptable. Use Mercon LV
    transmission fluid to service vehicles equipped with a
    torqueshift automatic transmission. When adding or
    replacing transmission fluid in a vehicle with a torqshift
    automatic transmission, use Mercon LV fluid.
    [5] Traction-Lok axles add 8oz of friction modifier Ford P/N
    C8AZ-19B546-A or equivalent meeting Ford spec EST-M2C118-A
    [6] Synthetic oil is required.
    [7] Per TSB 07-1-7 Mercon V can now be used to service power
    steering systems in which the original recommendation
    was Mercon

Summary: On certain vans, a diode in the anti-lock braking system (abs) module may experience an electrical short. .

Conequence: The electrical short may cause an abs malfunction that would illuminate the abs warning light, or the module may overheat resulting in a burning odor, smoke, and/or fire. This condition may occur while the vehicle is being driven or unattended. .

Remedy: Dealers will install a new fuse in the abs circuit and install a heat shield over the abs module. The recall began on october 15, 2004. Owners should contact ford at 1-800-392-3673. Also ford is extending the limited warranty (for a one time replacement) of the abs module for a total of 10 years or 150,000 miles from the warranty start date, whichever occurs first. If your vehicle has already accumulated more than 150,000 miles, this coverage will last until september 30, 2005. .

Summary: On certain vans, the air filter element material process resulted in an air filter paper element that can smolder or burn. This change in filter paper composition combined with the configuration of the air induction system, may allow hot carbon particles to contact the air filter element during certain driving conditions that create hot particles. .

Conequence: These hot particles may ignite the air filter element with the potential for air induction system damage or underhood fire. .

Cracks can develop around the lower boom hinge pin boss at the turntable which can progress into failure of the plates if not detected. .

Conequence: Failure of the plates will cause unexpected motion of the boom and could cause the platform to fall, resulting in serious injury or death to a person standing on the platform. .

Remedy: Terex will notify owners and will repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on december 7, 2011. Owners may contact terex utilities warranty department at 1-605-884-3892. .
