    -23 To 32....10W-30 Ford TSB 05-16-6 states that SAE 10W-30 is acceptable to use in operating temperatures from -1 C (31 F) to 32 C (90 F).SAE 10W-30 is the preferred viscosity if the operating varies from -20 C (-4 F) to -1 C (31 F).
    Above -12 C .15W-40 Ford TSB 05-16-6 states that SAE 15W-40 is acceptable to use in operating temperatures from -12 C (11 F) to -1 C (31 F). SAE 15W-40 is the preferred viscosity if the operating is above -1 C (31 F).

    (1) The recommendation has been updated from MSP to MLV per Ford Special Service Message 21114 which states the following: All 2003-2008 F-Super Duty, 2003-2005 Excursion, 2004-2008 E-series and 2006-2008 LCF vehicles equipped with a torqshift automatic transmission should be serviced with Mercon LV automatic transmission fluid in place of Mercon SP. This includes top off as well as fluid replacement. Mixing Mercon LV and Mercon SP in the torqshift automatic transmission is acceptable. When adding or replacing transmission fluid in a vehicle with a torqshift automatic transmission, use Mercon LV fluid.
